Artist's Comments

This is one of the thousands of photos I took while I was in the Near East this summer.

Deviantart is a place for ART, not regular photography like mine (crappy camera), but I wanted to post one of my photos to let you guys know that if you're interested in seeing more, you can contact me and I can add you to my Facebook or something, where I have many albums from this trip, and more to come.

Let me know...

Oh, and if you're interested in stock photos...I considered opening a stock photo account with many of these photos, but I'm not yet sure if I want them all to be made public or if I want to keep them for my own stock...selfish, I know, but hey. But anyway, if you are interested in stock photos, contact me privately and I will send you some. I have desert photos, photos of near-eastern cities, including Amman, Nazareth, Jerusalem, and others, and MANY archaeological sites. (it was an archaeology trip I was on).

Oh and by the way, if you hadn't caught on, this is in Israel, and that's Lake Kinnereth/Sea of Galilee. I lived close to here, on the eastern shore of the Sea, at Kibbutz Ein Gev, and I worked at an archaeological site called Hippos-Susita, nearby on the edge of the Golan Heights.

Neat!! So are you an archaeologist yourself or no? The view is lovely, by the way. Aside from the powerlines (if that's what those two cords are) it's quite stunning. :D

Yeah, I tried getting away from the power lines, but I wanted THAT angle and them lines didn't want to move :(

I'm studying archaeology in school right now, and I've worked archaeology summer jobs, one with a north american company, and then this last summer in Israel, which wasn't exactly a job, since it was volunteer. I took three semesters of Anthropology and North American archaeology at UNBC, and now I'm at UBC studying Near Eastern Studies. I would like to work over in the near/middle east one day, which has been my goal all along (i love it there!) but now with my boyfriend...I'm not sure. I only want to work over there if he can/wants to come too. So I might just end up working at some university, and go to the middle east for short periods of time for research material.

-snorts- Stubborn powerlines. ;p

:wow: Sounds so exciting! I envy you, it sounds like you've really found your calling in life. And such an interesting one at that.

Great location for an outdoor seminar/sermon. Biblical archaeology was one of my dream jobs. *sigh* It took medicine way too long to give me decent control of my allergies in the field. :D

:D Back then, those pesky power lines were not an issue. :D

Hell, art's in the eye of the beholder. This is a great landscape shot as it is. :D Looks like a great country.
:iconsenekha:
it was an amazing country :)

Indeed they were not ;)

Yeah I hope to do biblical archaeology :) But I'll be happy with any archaeology work over east.
